ABOUT
Carrie Moscoe is a singer, actress, and freelance writer native of Lexington, Kentucky. She attended Western Kentucky University receiving her bachelor’s in music and English. Currently, she is preparing to play The Queen in Adventure Theatre’s The Very Merry MADrigals. She is a semi-finalist in the Premiere Opera Foundation’s Vocal Competition as well as a semi-finalist for Kentucky NATS. This summer, she understudied Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel, sang Travinia the Rabbit in The Carnival of the Animals, an Improv Opera, and sang in the premiere staging of Paul Richard’s The Loathly Lady as the Second Lady in Waiting for the Vienna Summer Music Festival. She has also sung Suor Osmina in the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre’s production of Suor Angelica and covered the title role in Stafford Opera’s Production of Viardot’s Cendrillon. Her musical theatre experience includes playing Miss Honey in Stage Right Acting’s Matilda the Musical and being featured in UK Opera Theatre’s revue It’s a Grand Night for Singing.
She played The Second Witch/Second Murderer/Gentlewoman in Image Theatre’s Macbeth. Her Shakespearean roles include Amiens/Le Beau/Hymen in As You Like It, Marcellus/Player Lucianus/Second Gravedigger in Hamlet, and Snug in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Shared Radiance. She has also played Julianne Tessman in Dollar Shakespeare’s dramatic reading of Hedda Gabler. Carrie has stared in a variety of original short plays for local playwrights. She premiered the role of Kerri Fellows in Ground Rules for Creative Greensboro. She also played Dr. Kolhaus in Abberation and Brandi Lynn in Progression for the Summer Shorts Festival with Jakespeare Virtual Theatre. She can also be heard in the 2021 NC Radio Play Festival as Cassie in Spring Fling. One of her favorite roles in the past was Juliet in Romeo and Juliet for BYO Shakespeare.
Carrie also enjoys sharing her talents as a writer. Her short play Fanboy was featured in Western Kentucky University’s New Works Festival. Fanboy, as well as two other short plays of her creation, can be read in her collection Quaking In My Boots. She plans on publishing her poems and short stories soon.
